Bubble Letters: Learn The Bubble Alphabet

If you want to turn everything you write into something fun, you should try bubble letters. Learning how to write bubble letters is both easy and fun.

Why learn bubble alphabet? Bubble letter writing is a fun way to express fun ideas and can be used in art classes, brochures, fliers, posters, and more. Bubble letters are particularly useful is you work with small children but even adults can have fun with them.

There are only two different methods to learn the bubble alphabet. In this article, we will explain how every single one of them. Our advice would be to go over all of them before you settle on one to practice. Choose the one that makes the most sense to you, and then practice. Alternatively, you can just try them all out in any other you choose.

So, without much further ado, here are all the methods for writing bubble letters.

Method Number 1 For Bubble Writing

The first method involves making thick bubbles and here is what you would need to do.

First, draw any letter with a single line with a pencil. It might be any letter of your choosing, but it might be a good idea to start with the capital letter “A”.

Then, draw a light outline around the capital letter “A” with a pencil. Make sure that the outline has no sharp angles or corners. Keep every angle as rounded as possible. This is something you can experiment later on as you practice.

Also, ensure that the outline has roughly the same distance from the letter all around it. You want to outline to have the shape of the letter “A”.

Next, make as many outlines as you like until the bubble letter becomes as big as you would like it to be.

Once you have made a big enough outline, erase the initial letter “A” and all the interior outlines, leaving no marks (that is why it was so important to draw the letter and every outline lightly. No, color in the letter with a color of your choosing and trace the outline with a marker pen.

Once you have mastered all the capital letters in the alphabet, you might want to try with a small case. It is true that most times, you would use bubble writing only with capital letters but there might be times when you would want to use small-case bubble letters. The method of writing small bubble letters is exactly the same, though. So, as long as you know how to write capital bubble letters you should be able to achieve the same level of consistency with small-case letters.

Practice with different letters, patterns, and colors until you have mastered the art of bubble writing. It is up to you how thick, thin, big, or small the letters are. Have fun finding your own style.

Method Number 2 For Bubble Writing

For the second method, draw a big capital letter “A” with a pencil. Then draw a wide border to the letter with a pencil, tracing thin lines.

Then, draw more border lines (up to 3), until you have found your desired shape. Next, erase all the interior lines and the letter, ensuring that you leave no marks.

Color in the letter to make it look the way you like. If you like this method, you should try with different letters until you have found your own style. Remember that writing makes perfect.

As with method one, you can use method 2 to write small-case letters, too. Having said that, you would be a lot more likely to write capital letters rather than small-case letters. But, if you want to write small-case letters you can do so with this same method, too.

Two Methods For the Same Result

As you can see, both methods are extremely similar, and you can achieve the exact same result by using either one of them.

It is always a good idea to start with simple letters and shapes. That is why we advise that you begin with capital letter “A” before you move on to other letters in the alphabet. But, with practice, you should be able to achieve a unique style of your own.

For example, you should be able to make your letters look 3D if you like. How? By adding some shade to the sides. You can do that using any of the two methods in this tutorial.

You can also combine bubble writing with cursive writing by making bubble cursive letters. Of course, you will need to learn cursive letter wiring first but if you already know how to do cursive, all you will need to do is writing cursive letters as your base and then follow your chosen method to turn the cursive letters into bubble letters.

How about the letter “X”? Whether small case or capital letter “X”, the penultimate letter in the alphabet is the trickiest letter to write. The best way to achieve a good bubble “X” is by drawing two overlapping rectangles, erasing the crossing lines, and rounding off each of the corners.

How about capital “Q”? The best way to write a capital letter “Q” is similar to drawing an “O”. Just add a small rectangle on the side to make it look like a “Q”.

Writing whole words can be tricky, so you should only attempt that after you have mastered all the necessary letters. When attempting whole words, the main thing is to ensure that you have enough space to complete the whole word so that every letter has the same size and consistent shapes. Make sure that you have enough space to draw all the lines and then erase them.

Finally, one of the hardest letters to write is the lowercase “e”. It takes some time not to make it look too puffy but working on each of the corners.
