Why Draw A Rose?
Unless you are allergic to pollen, you probably like roses. Roses are one of the most beautiful flowers there are. And they are also among the most fragrant blossoms. It is impossible to draw the scent of a flower, but its simple beauty can be represented through the art of drawing.

There are many ways to draw a rose, but we have looked at the best step-to-step tutorials and have created a guide that has been tested to work on children and adults alike.
What Do You Need To Draw A Rose?
Before we go through every step that you would need to follow in order to draw a rose, you would need to make sure that you have everything that you will need in order to follow the step-by-step tutorial.
There is nothing worse than starting to draw only to find out that you do not have everything that you need once you have actually begun.
The good news is that you will not need anything extraordinary to follow our tutorial. It is very like that you already have the right materials lying around at home. But, it is always a good idea to gather what you have and make sure it is all you need before you begin. If you are missing something, you should get it as soon as possible.
The first thing that you will need is a drawing template, like the one we have included in this tutorial. If you want to use a different one, you should be able to find dozens of them online. A simple Internet search will do to find one you would like.
You will need a piece of paper (at least, one but more is even better). Also, access to a printer in order to print out your chosen template. Finally, have a good pencil or, if you prefer, a drawing maker at hand. That will be your instrument so be sure you choose one you like and feel comfortable using. You can also have some coloring materials but that is totally optional. You may want to color in your drawing or not after you are done but, if you do, be sure to have the right coloring supplies. Normally, you would need red (or orange, yellow, pink, etc. depending on what color you want your roses to be), and at least two shades of green (darker for the stem and lighter for the leaves).
Once you have gathered all the materials, you are all set to follow the tutorial.
Step 1: Draw an oval shape. It does not matter if it is not perfect.
Step 2: Draw a spiral inside the oval, in any direction you like and with as many turns as you can.
Step 3: Draw the shape of a heart all around the oval. The heart cleft should touch the top of the oval shape. It does not matter if other parts of the heart touch the oval or not. The heart does not need to have a perfect shape. In fact, one side may be larger than the other or look different. That will not matter at all.
Step 4: Then, draw a line with an S like shape following the heart shape on the left side. Start at the top and then bring the line right up to the bottom of the heart. That part should look have the rough shape of a pointy V.
Step 5: Make a similar shape on the right but, this time, do not do the pointy V shape. Instead, have the new shape touch the shape from step 4.
Step 6: Then, draw a U shape connecting both shapes for steps 4 and 5. Your drawing should begin to look like a rose now.
Step 7: All that is left is adding some small details to make the drawing look more like a rose. For example, you can connect the pointy V shape from step 4 to the bottom of the U shape from step 6. Or connect the oval shape from step 1 to the heart shape from step 3.
Step 8: Draw some sepals under the flower.
Step 9: Draw a simple stem and a leaf or more. You may also want to add some thorns too, but that is optional.
Nine simple steps are all it takes to draw a beautiful flower. All that is left to do is adding any color if you want but you do not need to follow any steps for that!
