Suprateek Kundu

Suprateek Kundu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Emory University.

I completed my doctorate from the Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the guidance of Professor David Dunson. I then completed my Post-doc at the Department of Statistics Texas A&M where I worked with Professor Bani Mallick and Veera Baladandayuthapani. I joined Emory in 2014 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics. I am also a core faculty member in the Center for Biomedical Imaging Statistics, and a member at The Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation at VA, Emory.

My research interests include developing flexible Bayesian approaches motivated by challenging biomedical applications in genomics and neuroscience. I have worked on non- and semi-parametric Bayesian approaches, density estimation and regression, high dimensional variable selection and graphical models, and more recently neural networks. One of my focus areas is to incorporate disparate data types as well as prior knowledge to achieve more robust and dependable statistical estimation approaches. By working at the intersection of machine learning, statistics, and computer science, my goal is to tackle the most challenging problems encountered currently in biomedical sciences in the age of big data and artificial intelligence.
