About The Author

I work with practical and theoretical aspects of light measurement, specifically for lighting applications. My PhD work was on characterization and optimization of LED lighting systems, this work has led to an interest in lighting metrology research and work on global standardization of lighting measurement. As participant in EURAMET metrology project to being Danish country member of CIE Division 2, I seek to develop new methods within measurement and utilization of LED lighting technology.

Can We Cheat The Brain And Save Energy?

Conditioning of built environments dominates global energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. If lighting can be used actively to stimulate our perception of the thermal environment, there may be a potential to expand the temperature interval that building occupants find comfortable and thereby reduce the amount of energy used to heat and cool buildings.
