Dr. Williams-Butler’s research interests include understanding the developmental trajectories of adolescents involved in child serving systems - particularly the child welfare, juvenile justice, and mental health systems. She is particularly interested in understanding the process of resilience among at-risk youth, exploring mental health service use as a protective and promotive factor, and reducing racial disparities in child serving systems.
